Annual Plan
The annual plan formulation of Grama Panchayats is a multi-stage development process implemented with public participation and transparency. The first step in this planning process is to convene ward-level Gramasabhas (ward meetings) to consolidate the specific needs and development proposals of local residents. The public proposals obtained in this manner are discussed in detail by various Working Groups and Development Standing Committees formed at the Panchayat level, which then transform them into viable projects. Subsequently, the prepared draft plan document is presented at Development Seminars attended by elected representatives and experts, and it is further refined to be more people-centric by incorporating their suggestions. The Panchayat Governing Body approves the final annual plan in accordance with the Plan Fund, development funds, and the Panchayat’s own funds allocated by the government to implement these projects. Finally, development activities are systematically executed within the Grama Panchayat only after this annual plan document receives official and technical approval from the District Planning Committee (DPC).
